About the Author
Jay Wagner is a journalist, writer and native Iowan. He is the youngest recipient of two career achievement awards Distinguished Service Award in 2002 and Outstanding Young Iowa Journalist in 1986. Wagner is published in a dozen magazines. He is a trained English as a Second Language educator and he volunteers to assist new immigrants. Wagner’s hobbies include travel, cooking, regional literature, the state fair and agriculture. He and his wife live in Des Moines with their two children.
Eileen Potts Dawson holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Moore College of Art & Design. Her work ranges from children’s book illustrations to commissioned portraits. She is also the illustrator of W is for Wisconsin and H is for Hoosier, published by Trails Books. Dawson has been a classroom volunteer in Madison public schools for many years. Recently, she was appointed representative to the Dane County Cultural Affairs Commission. She lives in Madison, Wisconsin.
